Not done anything for a while... just had a play around and came up with this.... didn't really take any time with it, just thought i would do something a bit different, i did however get the idea from a manip that was online of guy looking over the edge of road the same way as the track dos in this pic.

Looks like an interesting ride is about to be "not so pleasant" pretty cool idea!

Way too dark again, you must like the evenings because most of your works are in near pitch darkness.
Ideas are great just the colours and lighting are so dark?

OK.... i brighten up a bit for those that don't eat carrots... :bustagut:, you guys keep forgetting i cant see the dam canvas half the time... with just a slit in the wall for day light the only point i could see was my feet. yeah i do keep tending to do them dark, but is at night...

Thanks everyone.

They haven't let you out of that room yet?:bustagut:

Ick. I agree it may be too dark, but I really don't like it that brightened. It looks weird and the colors take on a green cast that I think is undesirable IMO. But then, you know I personally like darker imagery.

So, to back up my opinion, here is an edit I put a little time into. Just to show an idea of how it could be handled. Still dark, but I think the mood is dark. Besides, that little room they put me into sometimes; that's dark too!

Really like that ibclare.... that's probably some where around the area i would have tried to get if i had took some time with it, i just did this quick for something to do after a search on line for some tutorials, I didn't follow a tutorial as i found an image of a man looking over the edge of the end of rd that went down the cliff face and then back in to a level road at the bottom, i thought i would just have a go at doing train track in the same way, then just added the rest to fill it in.

I was mainly trying out using the perspective and distort adjustment tools to get the track looking as it dos, the track it self doesn't fit the rest of the image.. its to clean looking for the rest of the image, but one thing that has help with the comments is that i need to get more in to trying to portray a night scene. I just use the brightness and contrast to show the image as others said it was to dark.

I haven't really tried with this image, just play around with it... i think i will go back to it now that i have lean more about the tools i used in Photoshop to get the track done ( which still needs a bit more work ) i was pleased that i manage to use the warp tool for the same image of a tree trunk to get the roots looking as they did on the cliff face. however would probably take more time at getting them to look more natural with the foliage .

I do for some reason tend to like dark imagery, But need to get it right between to dark and just dark. But again thanks for such time and input you have done, and from others that have taken the time to look at it. Its always appreciated by me even if some times it doesn't feel that way as i don't get much time to post these days, working away is a bind, just getting home at weekends.

Thank you.

I love it. If I would change anything, I would suggest more obvious changes in the lighting as one goes between the two horizontal surfaces and the one vertical surface (ie, the edge of the cliff). Maybe something like this ...

I think it's great image ink pad, though I also had to post my "version".

When I first saw this image, I thought the rails look completely wrong. Because nobody mentioned this I tried to correct the rails as good as I could. I also changed the colors a bit to my "personal taste".

Thanks everyone.. love the changes that were made as well... i don't mind anyone playing around with any of the images i post as it gets you to see other variations of it, give you more ideas or something that you would never have thought of.

I did note though on chris changing the tracks that the left and right side foliage have distorted, i also attempted to change the tracks to get the final look i had first time..I don't know how you did it ?, but what i did was use the pen tool and go round the track so it just selected the rails and inner sections of the track. make the pen outline a selection which then just allows you to use the transform tool, in my case i used the distort, perspective and scew, this allowed just the track to be moved and transform without moving the foliage.. once done i had to do some foliage painting/manipulating and warping just at the edges to tie it all back in.

again all.. thanks for taking the time to look at it and do other things. I didn't think anyone would take the time with it as i did it very quick at the time and thought it was rather rubbish. i think when i get back home i will do the track, the colors, the lighting and shadows and make it more a real image rather than just something i was playing around with.

Thanks all.

Thanks Inks, I do understand the lack of time you have. It would kill me. Being pretty much retired at the moment, I can choose my play time. I know you don't mind seeing other's edits or I wouldn't play (NOT. I still would, lol).

Tom, I love the way you brought out the BG on top. I didn't even think anything was there so I didn't try . . .

As for chris distorting the foliage, I think foliage is the easiest to fix and least likely to matter. Unless you're really zoomed in on it. Anyway, a quick clone and it's fixed. Usually.

I'm looking forward to what you do with this next or to the next thing you do. Sometimes it's just time to move on!
