the last claw

Pretty interesting. There's some jaggedness on the top of the claw. Love the textures.

the jaggadness is from the low res, I think. Didn't handle the curve well at 100 ppi. I seem to have that problem on my stuff for screen. Got a cure?

PPI shouldn't make any difference to a screen image. Pixel size is all that counts. Just for interest's sake you might try the same pixel size but 72dpi and Bicubic Smoother for the resizing algorithm.

I like this one, alot. Any tip's on how you created the 'threaded' cylinders within the plastic chambers? I can think of a number of labor intensive ways, but would like to hear your take. Have you ever given any thought to animating any of your cyber creations?

Way cool man! Havn't seen your stuff in a while.
I like SCync's idea: you should animate some of these.

About the treaded cylinders: It looks like you made two different little sections, then copied and moved over? I think I would take a section then press crtl+t and move it over. Then use ctrl+j and ctrl+shift+t to move em' over exactly. Just a thought. I'd like to here just some various techniques on how you do some of your stuff.

Welles, I'll try your formula, thanks. As for animation, I hadn't thought about it. I may give it a shot though, animation isn't my long suit however. I'll also do a little tute in the plastic wire thingy. In the mean time think about FONTS. I find fonts a great source of shapes that can be used for applications they're not intended for. I'll post the tute on the wire in the campfire section

To get rid of the jaggies, I guassian blur the shape then use unsharp mask.
