You asked, so I looked, I notice the chains may need shadowing on buildings walls a bit, but it may be that preference thing, all in all nice work!

I have other elements to put in it, more clocks and possibly a person about to enter the gate... Do you think the bg needs more or should i wait till all the elements are added.
 
WOW, inky. I totally missed this at your first post. You picked some difficult elements to work with, the chains and ladders, which had to make determining shadow placement really tough. But I'm glad you didn't overdo it. The final version has a completely different feel. I like both color schemes.

What I'm not sure of is if it hasn't gotten too busy with the addition of the eyeballs. I preferred the simplicity and starkness of the other. But ... that said, there is truly a different feel between the two. You may not like my opinion, but the first seems fantastical and the second does as well, but more in the fashion of children's illustration. If that's the intent, then I think the richer in detail and embellishment the better.

But either way, I love them both. So tell us, is this the outside of your second home? The one with the dungeons and dragons? :twisted: And straight jackets?

I did put a boat in the bg, but removed it as i couldn't seem to get one that fit the image, i try a ghost ship, a galleon, and a wreck, but just didn't like it for whatever reason.

The addition of the eyes and changing of the colors came around because i actually got to a point i had a block on what to do next. I decided i wanted a surreal dream like image, hence the change of name once i added the eyes which became The Watch Tower, both watches and eyes watching you as you try and enter the tower, i hope it worked.

This is me mates place, quite timid to where i live. But every time i visit and i get the boat i get caught by the ward staff as i have rocked it too much after so many bottles of sauce. Just like some of me paintings i come out all washed up and locked up.

Maybe i will do one of where i live, but i need to get across the feeling of dread and terror in an image, Don't think i'm quite there yet.

Some images i searched on line were actually over the line for me , i know i have a joke about being mad and all , but some images are just too bad and should be ban, but that's another story, and you know me if i get near that sauce bottle i will be on one and keep going on and on and on and on and on, DOH.....
