Text Seems Too Large

I am using Photoshop CS3 version 10.0.1 under Windows Vista Ultimate.

My text appears enormous. I used the ruler to measure a capital character for "Lucida Sans Unicode" "14pt" text and its about 90 pixels tall. I'm not sure why it is so large.

I checked the screen resolution under Edit-Preferences-Units and Rulers: this is set to 72 pixels per inch.

Look in your character panel. If it isn't open, go to Window and check character. You'll see a T with a downward arrow and a numerical box. I checked Lucida Sans. It should read 220%. Yours may have been reset somehow. If you continue having problems, you probably need to reset your preferences.
