Hi, I wanted to know some good techniques for text/handwriting replacement that doesn't use standard font? It's a photoshop use I have always been very curious about.

Something along the lines of (at a very basic level) replacing the "Simpsons" title with this:

Are you saying you want new fonts, or you want to hand write the words freehand? If it is new fonts, check out dafont.com. If you are just wanting to use your mouse, or pen, to write your words, use the Paintbrush tool, hardness at 100%, brush size to whatever thickness you want.

Not sure if that is what you are looking for??

Hi.

I'm looking to be able to copy a text style, like the simpson's text in to different words, using the same style of text, so "logo replacement" I guess is what I mean. I want to change the text of one thing in to another with a professional looking effect, similar to this: but without dealing with solid colour

A plug in that identifies fonts in an image would be absolutely amazing to help with this, if you know where to get one.

The best tool I use to find out what Fonts are being used in something is http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/. Simple upload the image and it can help identify what font you are looking for. It works most of the time.

There are a lot of popular fonts, like the Simpsons Font, or Disney font, that have been recreated as free fonts. If you check out http://www.dafont.com and search "Simpsons" or whatever, you might get lucky and find the font you are looking for.

That would be the best route I can think of.
