Anyone know if there's a way to set the character leading setting so that it auto-adjusts when you adjust font size? I think my Ps used to do that. Now, whenever I change font size, I have to adjust the leading, too.

Thanks,

In the character panel or paragraph window > Character Dont you just adjust the Kerning and also the tracking and it will stay the same settings until you change them again. And surely that will automatically adjust as you adjust type size. BUt then I have never paid that much attention and find I am always adjusting it for every font any way.

Hoogle,

I rarely change the kerning and tracking settings. My issue is the leading (space between lines of text). I seem to remember not needing to adjust the leading for a couple years. If I increased or decreased the font size of a text, the leading seemed to adjust automatically to an equivalent spacing. Now, if I, say, dramatically increase the font size, the leading stays the same, and my letters are all overlapping each other.

Adobe help just tells you how to adjust it, and reset it to default. No info on an "auto_adjust" feature.

I may be mistaken ......

but I think PS will remember the last setting used on the text. Thus if you create/select a text/text layer and select auto for the leading, the next time you use it , it will stay at AUTO no matter what size text you use.

Aha! That sounds reasonable. Where do I select "auto?" I opened up the more options box in the character panel, but didn't see an option for it.

I was having the same problem. I must have changed it accidentally, lol, cause it's on auto now. I use CS5 but I think the character panel has been the same for eons.
