Test printing image

Because I've learned the hard way not to assume anything when working with PS I have a newbie question. When I do a test print to see how my image looks before it's flattened, will the colors look the same as after flattening the layers into a finished image? I would assume it would but.......as I said, I quit assuming anything.

Thanks

Lee

Welcome Lee - yes the image should print just fine without flattening the layers. As a matter fact you may find you will get a better quality print if you print in PSD format rather than fattening at all. But if you are saving an image for print make sure you use the .tiff format and not .jpeg. You will get much better quality. :righton:

Thanks Rick. I really appreciate your quick answer. I gotta say, once again, I LOVE this forum. [excited]

Hi Lee, I forgot to welcome you to the board :)
I hope that you have a lot of fun :righton:
And please, don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have ;)

Thanks Gaussian. I've only been around about a week and all of you have already made me feel like I've used this Forum for months. You have no idea what a big help you all have been with me trying to learn this software my myself using nothing but books and tutorials. Sometimes that's really easy and sometimes it not. [confused]

Yes its true that PSD format is much better than fattening one. And .tiff format gives you better results then other formats. Most of the printing press using coral files as to have printed.
