Hello again guys, now I have a quick question, this may sound utterly stupid but you know I am a beginner so I just don't know and I'm curious :)

ok so if i say for an example I have a tv advertisement video with a women walking in the video, is there any way in after effects I could take this lady out of this video and import her every move from the last video onto another video? Id appreciate any reply because if its possible I have some decent idea's I think. Thank you.

you can cut her out like in photoshop you mask out the rest of the video not easy unles she is against a solid colour and you could key it and then import her to another video

wouldn't you have to do that frame by frame to work?
Little too much work if you ask me, however there are programs out there that can do it...

Depends on how proficient you are at after effects
The easiest solution would be to key out the background however this will only work on solid contrasting colours ideally green or blue.

Depending on body movement you could motiontrack key areas using a knull object and attaching a mask to the knull object but may need to fine tune it.

Or the really longway is frame by frame and masking with the pen tool

I say it should depend on what the person is wearing and doing.
If the colors are too complex may = frame by frame edit.
If the movements are to complex = frame by frame edit.
frame by frame edit = one angry editor.

thank you for the reply's, so it seems its a very tricky task.. hmm, still interested now I know it can be done, thanks again guys, big help :)

Whateve you guys say.... it's a frame by frame edit...

Billy_B.... depending on your needs, you can mask out the needed frames of the basic 2 step walk. left-right ... and repeat the animation for other frames. you may also try to forego a few alternating frames to decrease file size in new document and have less frames to work on. This makes life easier. Unless you have the patience of a saint to do every frame in the movie..... lol...

But as a note , you have to select the right sequence in the walk that will blend seemlessly if repeated over and over without jerky movements.
