OK, I give up searching any phrase for the answer.

I haven't worked in Dreamweaver since I used DW3. Rusty? Yeah. But I never did this anyway.

I'd like to add rollovers to an image. I know how to use swap image. NP. I can do hotspots. But I don't see how to do a rollover image on top of an image or image map.

Can anyone help?

The last time i did rollover images i used css to do it, cant remember without checking but thats how i did it. I also use DW CS6 , Check the web for some css tutorials that might help..

Don't know if this is any help or not ?..

I havent used Dreamweaver... but I do it in HTML ... just add a OnMouseOver event on the image and add the link to the second image.. //

* Open the Insert menu and select Rollover Image. A dialog box will appear
* Type the name of the image to be rolled over in the first box. For example, you might call a Home Page button Home Rollover
* In the next box, type the location of the image that will appear on the page. Click Browse to choose an image from your hard disk.
* In the Rollover Image box, type the location of the image that will be appear when the mouse hovers over the image. Click Browse to choose an image from your hard disk.

OPTIONAL:
If the image is clickable (linked), type the Web address in the next box. Click OK

Yes, guys, thanks. But that is not my question. Sorry I was not more clear. I have for the time being given up and just made hotspots.

I hope I can clarify my question. I will post the jpeg. Until I get more tech know how on doing some flashy stuff, I am keeping my site very Aunty Clare Style.

My homepage is an image, no text. There are four icons. The Over icon is a duplicate with an outer glow and it jumps out just slightly not a size change but slightly off-position, each one a different direction for what it's worth.

I would like to add swap image behavior. Normally that is not a problem and if I had a nav bar that would be cool. But I don't. I want nothing but the image and a bit of a treasure hunt to see what is an icon (with a levels output increased BG image that should be easy) and try it out. So I won't have anything that says welcome, or bio, or menu of service, or contact. Maybe later, I'll make a nav bar at the bottom like most sites have, but I want to get this up ASAP. It's for my side business as a Holistic Health Practitioner and I already have private clients lined up, but I want to give them something to look at, my menu of service, price list, etc. I am totally redoing my 6 year old website and maybe even getting a new domain name. Hopefully it will also get referrals from them. They already love me. With Valentine's Day coming up, it is a perfect time to push the business. Oh yumm <rubs hands briskly together and claps, then spreads arms to the sky and sends a plea to the Universe: "send them $$$ to me" . . . ehr, that is, send me needy clients>

Anyway, I want to add swap image to the image itself and add the icons. I don't know if layers work to do that. I have never used layers, so I don't know if they are there for anything but layout purposes like a tracing image. I consider the image to be an image map, and that is where I am confounded. Maybe I need to use another program. Maybe this is something better done in Flash? Scuse me, I have never used anything but pure html, DW, and PS to create a website. I have made slices in Fireworks and PS. Is this what I need to do?
