Stupid deletion

While using my Photoshop Elements 6, in the Effects Tab, I stupidly clicked the delete icon while on one of the Drop Shadow effects. I only meant to remove the effect from the layer, but it has deleted the effect entirely from the tab. Can you tell me how to get it back? Thanks

If you haven't used the Drop Shadow effect on anything else since you last used it on the layer in question, the last settings used may still be there.

Thank you for your suggestions, but Edit/delete only deleted the last edit that I had made, and did nothing to re-install the lost effect (although I had indeed assumed it would).

For this project I can still use the soft edge drop shadow, by copying the effect from a layer where I have already used it, and pasting it on a new layer, but it doesn't put the effect back in the layer style box, so it won't help me in future.

I thought there must be a simple solution that I had missed, but maybe I shall have to re-install the programme to get it back.

It's a stupid system, which I assume they have changed in later editions of the Photoshop, otherwise you would have known all about it.
