Student needs to replace greyscale plan with color using PS 5.0

Hello,

I have a floorplan that is a greyscale line drawing that I need to make blue. I am trying to take a drawing from autocad and make it look like a blueprint. I have had no luck replacing the black with anything else but grey. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you're in RGB color before you work with color. In your menu bar go to Image > Mode > RGB color

Then you should be able to change things.
