h t t p : //img607.imageshack.us/img607/605/unled1kqa.jpg (Sorry for doing it like this, I don't have 4 posts yet, but I have no idea how to explain it, other than show with a picture)

Okay, so, I've marked the points that I'm curious about...so, the question is...

How do I close the gap between points 1 and 2, and then continue the path from point 3?

I mean, I have no idea if its even possible to do it like that, but it seems like a simple function that photoshop should be able to do. Can someone help me out, here.? :X

Well, yes...

This on screenshot is just a small part of the image, there's a big path already done, and this jewel is just something that I need to combine into it.

Well, if I could separate it now, as a different path, from this, by just closing the path around the jewel, and be able to combine it together, I guess that would work. Is that possible?

Tough I would prefer it if I could just close the gap between point 1 and point 2, and then continue the path upward, from point 3.

But, as long as I combine these two things later, that would be fine, too.

It can be done but if you actually want to do this in a single path depends on end result you are after, but...

Delete the point on the new line you started and connect points 1 & 2. Start a new path close to point 3 and click on the old point 3, now select eboth paths. On the top tool bar, set the operation the last as shown in the screenshot (exclude overlapping shape areas). Click the combine button.

Now continue the path from that point.

I, um, didn't really understand this part, tough I tried what I thought you meant, but it didn't work.

And I failed at combining the paths, as well. I mean, I just can't select them both at once.

Anyway, I've uploaded the issue there, if you could download it, do your thing, and re-attach it, and based on how you fixed it, write to me, step-by-step, how you did it. If its not too much to ask, of course.

I think something else is the issue, and that's why I can't follow your first guide, or maybe I'm just not getting it.
