No, your image shows you have not added the Gradient layer.

Here's a better way to answer this question.............which layer did we make an opacity adjustment to before the "Gradient" layer? There was only one.

YES! You would do that on the "Plane copy 1" layer-layers mask.

Your very welcome! Hopefully this works out for you. Just remember, each image will require different settings. Enjoy!
