I want to rotate my image into a animation gif.

I can spin it like the face of a clock but not spin it around a central X axis (like a globe spins).

How can I do this?

if you want to make it rotate in 3d space you should consider using 3d tools for Photoshop but I'm not sure what you're exactly after ?

when you rotate the image, it automaticly rotates around it's center.
however, when you press ctrl+t you see a little cross in the center, that is the rotation center,
if you drag that to for example a corner, the image will rotate around that corner.

On a flat 2d image, create multiple layer copies of the base object. Use transform to decrease the width of the each layer image in increments depending on your need (eg 90, 80 , 70 ) . Hold down CTRL+ALT and click /drag the handles to rotate/transform the image object on its center axis.

To create the continuity of the rotation, flip copy of original image horizontally and use the same steps above.

Same can be done with Y axis rotation.

Position the layers to create your ani sequence.

This can also be done directly in the Video Animation Workspace without creating multiple layers but it sometimes can have unexpected results most especially if you edit already created frames. So I prefer doing the sequence in Default Workspace then use the Video animation timeline to create the animation frame sequence.
