I finally have a computer again & now have CS6  so I'm trying to re-learn what I learnt before & ideally some new stuff too but I think I may be being very dense.

I can't for the life of me work out how to draw a path of a specific length at a specific angle.....
What I want to do:

Anchor 1 -check
Anchor 2 -exactly 5cm from anchor 1
Anchor 3 -exactly 5cm from anchor 2 & at a 30 degree angle to the angle of the anchor 1-2 line.

This must be so simple...

Pretty please can someone help?

Thanks

You can control those parameters by placing a path, open the direct selection tool, select your path then Ctrl+T . Check the boxes at the top of your window that will show the length and angle. Put the values you want in the appropriate boxes.

Double click the line tool and add the parameters you need in the options box.

Thanks for the responses. ALB, I only get the option to set width & height -not angle. Do I need to change the settings on my toolbar?

I eventually managed to draw a lovely pentagon with the line tool thanks Hawkeye. I then had an absolute nightmare trying to get handles on it to reshape it (I have worked out drawing pentagons with the polygon tool too, just for when I don't need regular shapes!1), but at least that's that step sorted....
