space cruiser

I attempted to make a ship similar to your Hunter. I hope you like it. It was intended as flattery.

not bad, dude. it is complimentary when someone walks in your footsteps from time to time. They're fun aren't they. I'm working on 3 more. Trying to mimic a 3d app isn't the easiest thing, But I'll come as close as possible (eventually). You did verry well with the fusilage texture considering mine was made from a large metal texture I created about 3 years age that has the erosion effect built in. Now do the cruiser but keep in mind, right now i'm a step ahead of you. By the way, I did a 'Phred' type thing awhile back. I'll find it and post it. hagwe.

Thanks for the compliment. Space ships are fun. Trying to mimic three d application is tough. I have an older version of bryce and I still can't master in photoshop what that program did. It's good practice.

The fuselage texture was made with using the default silver gradient and running the distort/wave filter on it set at square wave. I didn't mark down the settings unfortunately. I use a similar technique with making jewels. I believe the tutorial is still in the forum tutorials if you wish to give it a looksy.

Here's a cruiser. I'm just posting the smaller version for now. I used my actions technique and some of your posted techniques. on the actual cruiser. The planet was made from what I learned at www.solarvoyager.com. The starfield is actually a brush from a set I got somewhere online. Can't remember the website.

You did a Phred too? Cool! I'd love to see it.

Those three space ships with star/space settings are great fun. Nice job guys. Moth, that third one looks like a scavenger's space ship!

They are fun. You should give it a try. Thank you for the compliment.

:)

I am not familar with the scavengers. Are they from a television show or a movie? Or did you just mean the ship looks like someone put a lot of different pieces together from various ships?

The latter. ;)

A new cruiser for the thread. Turned out more ungainly than I intended. However, I thought the textures turned out well.
