Hi All,

I've downloaded a photo from the net and then opened with photoshop, its an image with a white background so using magic wand tool I selected the white areas and deleted them. After this I went to save for web and have saved as PNG and GIF format with the transparency box checked but then when I open the image on my site the damn white background is still there....

What am I doing wrong!?? Please Help!

RIGHT CLICK LAYERs window (small image) select remove background, then delete save as png or gif

check> image> image mode> put it to rgb

What is the format? it might be your preferences settings

create a new blank layer right click 1 of the layers and select merge layers then just save as a png.

However you may want to try uploading your png here as to test it as not all websites will display pngs properly and mix them up with a jpg.

Used ctrl + J and switched of the background layerbut same, its still savbed with the white background. It's a jpg file.. if that is what you mean by format?

either you have a png pixel size limit here it is 700 x 700 pixels but every web site will have its own settings, or your website does not support png try saving for web png 24 as the preset and half your image size to see if it works as that is quite a large png
