Hey there

I made a background in ~10 minutes for youtube and I'd love to hear some feedback.

Here's the speedart:

Please tell me what to improve :) I'd love to know. Or where I used some wrong tools. What could be better?

Greetings,

Alex

Thanks.
Still I made a new version since I play both Skyrim and Far Cry 3
Here's the result.
Anything you'd personally change?

don't like the fade to black at the bottom....BUT that is picky...I like the colors

I don't like where the green is changing to red color , I think it needed a bit more smooth transition.

I agree the blending of some colours is a little abrupt.

Hi Alex,

I completely agree with Mike! Loose the black! The rest of your concept seems great and well executed!

I had a College Art professor who used to say, "The darker the image is painted, the more inadequacy the artist is trying to hide."

I think the current trend to use such dark cover, shows that young artists have run out of ideas. I do get that some gaming interfaces are dark and you may be drawing from a deep pool of game examples where the gaming programmers are using darkness or black as a cover up.

Using darkness (black) to create an ominous setting is an art form that very few artist are capable of executing correctly.

but the black is needed. I said that twice now.
Here is how it looks like when it's used. http://www.youtube.com/user/ExProsiveGames

Scroll down and you'll see the fade transition is necessary.
I'll try minimizing it tough.
Anything else?

Not really. It's how your using it. This CHANNEL is a better example of how to use the black, notice that his characters are not drenched in black.
