softon edges?

I know there is a filter sharpen edges but is there a filter for softening edges...

I need this because I have removed the backround from an image but the edges of the picture look artificial..

How have you removed the background? If you have used a mask, then you could apply a gaussian blur to the mask to soften the edges. I usually apply a slight feather when I create my masks to avoid harsh edges.

i would recommend using feather, or for some thing a gaussian blur works well
