honestly i cant figure it out! help!
 
Dang that's some nice work... I'm no where near that level, but I'll give you my best guesses...

I'd say that the first two look like they could be pulled off with some good source photos of smoke, and some smudging. There really isn't too much depth on these, so all you really need is some nice lines with the smokey transparency. The card's outside edge looks just like source pictures, or smoke brushes to me. If you look at the heart in the middle, it looks like it was just drawn and then had some smoke wisps added around it. The dove is just baffling me though, it looks a lot cleaner than the others, so all I can think is possibly 3d modeling with some photoshop touch up.
 
Smoke images

All the images were made using source pictures of smoke. I know this because i made and own the image of the burning ace and i won the contest with it at Worth1000.com You cut the shapes from your source image lay them in position set the blend mode to screen and then feather the edges where necessary to blend the lines.
