Hi everyone I'm trying to create a smoke effect at first by myself but that didn't work and then i found one at a site. I told me to create a shape and then use the dodge and burn tool on it. i did that fine. Then it told me to use the wave effect and then fade the wave until i liked the effect. i've done it about 50 times and it still doesnt look like smoke! anyone have a clue as to what im doing wrong or do i just keep going on the wave thing? i'd really appreciate some help!

8} i just love these smileys! do y'all create them in photoshop? or is it a html thing? just wondering on that one!

ty mucho!
Kara

Can you post a sample of where you're at thus far? And a link to that tutorial?

Would be easier to see where you still need to go. ;)

Thanks for caring guys but I figured it out....it looks alright, i'm still playing with it. and don't ask what i was doing wrong, that isn't gonna be shared :)

Well, that is not fair to ask for help and refuse to help others ;)
You need to start with a soft brush stroke, then you can nudge it, or transform it.

No I just don't want to admit to my mistake, it proves I'm a blonde...

Well i was gonna post what i came up with, but i have no idea how! You guys will just have to imagine, but i must admit it doesn't look nearly as good as the one i was going for![/img]

Just save your image from PS as a Jpg, and use 50% compression.

Then post a reply here, and below the text area is an attachment button. Click that and browse to your image on your system.

That will upload your image; providing it's within the file size limitation -- 100kb.

For a specific description of this procedure, please see the FAQ on it: http://www.photoshopgurus.info/forum/faq.php#39
