SkullsvsReticles Wallpapers need final critique before being used.

Please be patient as the original files are on my desktop so it could be as late as tonight before i can add in critiques, i know i have to complete said avatar as well.

that said, i came up with the idea of this yesternight after realising allot of people on a Ghost Recon fan forum are either ones to like the Original Ghost Recon which had a reticle in the logo, or they like the Ghost Recon advanced Warfighter and Future soldier series which has a skull in the logo. but there are some who like both.

Here are the original size JPEGs of the wallpapers i had in mind.

Before we go ay further i'd like to state, I KNOW THE RETICLE ISN'T LINED UP CORRECTLY WITH THE SKULL. it's kind of hard one of them isn't perfectly circular and it shows up from underneath if i try.

they are the first varying resolution wallpaper sets i have done, apart from the first one, thats more of a teaser than a wallpaper.

but are they any good to you?

What critique would you give to make them better?

The empty space is deliberate most of the guys they are going to have allot of shortcuts on their desktop.

in the bottom 1 I would make the cyan tint over the skull emblem more green on the green side will balance it out more

that makes perfect sense, i never thought of that. thought of doing it with the glow, but not the overlay XD thanks

and don't worry i have a few plans for PSGurus wallpapers i'm getting down to those tonight, i shall post them there thanks for sharing :)
 
You can keep the glow just add a hue saturation adjustment layer and tell it to do the cyan channel and mask it out for half the image
 
Alex,

I personally would leave the skull blue/teal, and redraw the reticle to look like a glowing, green HUD-style display.

Then overlay it on the skull, and drop the opacity so the skull shows through.

Just an idea.

i'll do two seperate images then, one with hoogle's suggestion of the green side and one with your suggestion of the HUD style both sound freaking awesome!

Not trying to be biased, but I like my idea better. But I would make the HUD reticle much brighter. See what you think, Alex. : )

@hoogle that looks amazing! admittedly i did kind of forget the BG XD. but the reticle=:O love it.
 
Alex,

Run with Hoogle's idea. I pictured a bright green reticle. I would fancy it up a little, maybe make the reticle circle a broken, dotted line.

alrighty, it might be a little hard as the reticle i'm currently using is harder to edit than it looks. but i'll try it out.
