Sizing Photoshop window

I use Photoshop CS 5. It always opens too large so I adjust the size, do my work and shut Phoroshop.

Unlike other windows tools, Photoshop again opens in the too large foormat. I have been looking for a windows fix but nothing works.

Is there some setting in Phoitoshop which will solve this problem?

Many thanks,
Charlie

Hi Charlie, Photoshop will almost always open an image and fit it to the screen.

If your looking to actually make the document itself smaller, go to IMAGE > IMAGE SIZE and adjust it's size.

If your only trying to make the image smaller on the viewing screen, I would use the Command/Control + (+ plus or - minus) keys to fit the image to your screen or you can also hit Command?Control + 0 (zero) to fit to screen.

I guess that I'm not being very clear. Sizing images in PS is not the problem.

I can adjust the window size for IE or my editor and from that point on the tool will open with the same dimensions until I change the dimension again. I can manually adjust the height and width using the mouse to drag the edges of the window. My PS does not do this. It always opens with the same fixed size regardless of its size when last shut down. PS has it's own window in which to run and it is that window which should remember the last window size used.

I wish the see all tools open behind the PS window and can easily switch between these tools.

Click the maximize at the top left. Manually adjust the size as you would to your IE or Editor windows.

Make sure your at this size when you shut down PS. It'll open as it did when you closed it.

Strange... does on mine.

Let's try this.... Open PS. If it opens at full size, do as above and resize it.

Do something... open a new doc, Type something add a layer... save , close file and exit PS. Restart PS.....

If it opens at maximum, click the max button. Does it minimize to the size you set it earlier? If it does.... I guess that's what you have to do everytime.

If it still doesn't work.... I dunno what to think..... :banghead:

But I have to add.... Even if I start at maximum with dockers at full left and right. minimize and adjust to cover 1/3 of the monitor and close, PS will open at the size when I closed it.

Even tried adjusting it in reverse..... it will open at the size I closed it......

Even tried your suggestion... with a twist... resized PS even narrower..... opened at narrow adjustment.

Let's see how it goes with him....
