Sizing and Printing

I am trying to print out some Top Trumps cards print them and cut them out. Sounds dead easy!

I started a new file using A4. I used a grid set to 1cm and from here I created a 1cm border down the left side and across the top, by using the line tool to draw them. I then drew lines down at every 6cm interval, 3 wide and every 9 cm interval 3 down. Using snap to guide I put in the card images each measuring 6cm by 9cm. When I had finished I printed them out using borderless printing. However, when I looked at them the borders seemed smaller and when I measured them they were only 0.8cm (8mm) instead of 1cm. So, I made allowances for this and put the sheet in my guilotine and cut. To my horror the cut was not square chopping the bottom of one card and the last card had a white stripe below it. Curious I measured the cards and frudtratingly they measured 2mm wider and 2 mm longer!

Can someone please tell me what the heck is happening? How did the size change? Why was the 1cm border cut even though borderless printing was used and why was none of it square?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
