Size DOES matter!!!

Hi -- I'm new here and have recently purchase PS Cs3--- after many years of not using PS. WHAT a change!

I'm stymied....when I open a "new" file, the size is incredibly small.....like 1/16th of an inch. The rulers at the top extends 450 (whatever) to the left and 450 to the right. I have gone into "image size" and "canvas size" and tried to change it to be readible but not having any luck!!!! In order to see the box I have to zoom in to 3200%......this does NOT work for me!!! Anyone able to help me??? thanks in advance.

Go file "New" and it will bring some new options.

Choose something like 1200x900 pixels. That should be it.

Thank you! That DID work! So, why didn't it work when I put in 9 inches by 10 inches????

You may have had the resolution set to a weird number accidentally. ?
