Simple concept - how to achieve it?

Here's the idea - a friend of the family owns a sign printing shop. What I want done is fairly simple - to take a picture that is black and white (think zebra stripes), and make a large wall sticker out of it (basically just the black would be vinyl.) How would I go about preparing something like that in Photoshop, such that this guy wouldn't have to waste any of his time on prep work? Thanks!

Run it through Illustrator and convert to a vector image. Much better for cutting to vinyl. All the edges of the black need to be as smooth as possible.
