hey guys, so I havn't used photoshop for about 3 years (since i was 17) I'm just gettin back into it and made this:
29x7sq0.png

Looking for some advice? do you guys like it? any tips?

thanks

hey it has loads of layers,
the BG,
3 layers with different brushes on each to ehance the background a little (all at opacity ~40-50%)
3 copies of Cheryl
Original copy with blurred edges
One with hard light or Vivid Light (can't remember) to make her colours better as she was a bit dull
One at the bottom on overlay, then selected deleted 2px from the edges of the top 2 copies of her, to blend her in a little better (you can see a slight dark border around her) she also has a small outer glow
4 copies of my name, one warped, one copy of the warp with gaussian blur (Screen) to lighten it up. and another copy at a lighter colour and contracted to lighten the centre of the waves

Thanks for the comment.

I stand corrected.... lol....

Now that I know it's more than just a simple 3 layer image, now I can complete the critique...

Excellent composition with tastly chosen brushes. The glows are not overwhelming the background but complements the models image.

I'll give it 5-stars.....

Thank You very much!!
I wasn't really sure that I was doing things right and whether it looked good or not, which is why I posted it.

Thanks for the kind words :)

I do notice i have blurred HER left shoulder too much though.

Hey JamesG welcome to PSG.
Your piece is great looking easy on the eyes. Size is good, not sure whats going on in the bottom left corner though. Also it looks random, no theme to your composition. Your techniques are supreme, so it looks like you should bounce right back to where you were when you stopped using PS. Over all very nice piece.
