I am a new user to PS running CS6. I have been able to make the background transparent and need to change the letters that are in black to a redish orange. I have search the web and tried all the obvious tools that are in PS and I can't get any of them to work. Grayscale is not selected, RGB color is. I have attached the logo file. Does anyone see something not set correct to change the black letters to another color ?? It's driving me crazy !! I may have missed something simple but I can't find the reason. Thanks in advance !

Go to Image - Adjustments - Hue/Saturation. Make sure colorize is ticked and bump up the lightness. You should now be able to use the hue slider to adjust it to your liking.

You could also create a new layer with whatever color of your choice, then change the blending mode to color.

Select with magic wand (I really did!) duplicate your layer > edit>fill>color....pick your color
