Shortcut keys don't work

Hi, I have just installed Adobe Photoshop.CS and it looks great. I especially like the enhanced filebrowser :)

However I have a question.

Over the years I have been working with PS I have learned a lot of keyboard-shortcuts.

CTRL + T and CTRL + D and much more.
CTRL +
However I cannot get these shortcuts to work in the latest version.

It even says (Free Transform CTRL + T) in the menu, but the CTRL + T dosen't work.

So basically NO shortcuts works now :(

Is this a known problem?

This is a very well known problem with the cracked version.
So far, I've only heard of one guy having this problem with a legit copy. Turned out to be a key mapping/driver problem.

It's a cracked version. I say that after reading numerous post that deal with this problem (Adobe's Photoshop forum). It's not a key mapping problem, because in that case only a few combinations wouldn't work. Driver problem Stroker? That guy made it up.

We draw our lines differently and come to our own conclusions. In the end, no way to know for sure either way.

acctually the problem is with some cracked versions only ...(paradoxx for instance)

Buy the software and the problem is solved :}

Happens with legit copies (PS6 on Win XP). I have two machines in a local council project centre which won't accept Ctrl+I.

i dont know why youre smiling... seems to me that youre admitting that you're using an illegal version of pscs... heck, you even mention the crackers... i just hope for you that people who work for adobe dont visit this forum [stuned]

btw, rantin al, its possible that one key doesn't work but he admitted that none of them work and it has been confirmed that this is related to a cracked version

run JallaBalla, run!!! :bustagut: :bustagut:

I'll check out with tech services re previous posts.
I assumed it was another 'MX' glitch or a couple of dodgy keyboards.

Rantin;
I was checking it out over at the Adobe forums, they seem to think that the crack is responsible for this happening some of the time.

However, there have been instances when the same problem has occurred because of a faulty keyboard driver. And a driver update has solved the problem.

I don't think it is quite proper to assume that just because someone is experiencing a problem that they are using an illegal copy. The software is new and there are bound to be a few glitches, and as we all know everyones system is a little different. :) :) :)

JALLABALLA, can you open Photoshop and go to 'Help/System Info...'
can you copy what you see in that window to this thread. i might be able to help you!

btw, make sure that you dont include the part that reads "Serial number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" (somewhere on 12th row I think)

It seems that this is a Wednesday problem! [confused]

I checked out 5 computers, all with legit copies installed.

The two which were showing the Ctrl+I glitch have recovered their senses after the week-end and have decided to join in the fun and operate as originally designed. [saywhat]

I'm not paranoid, I've got witnesses!

If it's true that only the cracked version has this problem ... then I'm really, really upset. I purchased CS at a computer show and have the same problem. If this is a non-legit copy, I'm out some $$. I've purchased from this guy many times before and never had any problems.

I really hope that there is another explanation.

I'm guessing that this issue is not relegated to only "cracked" software. The shortcut key engine is one of the things that was replaced in CS, so it wouldn't surprise me one little bit if it broke and they were scapegoating until they can provide a patch for it. Of course, it wouldn't surprise me if the cracked version DID have problems too, but I've used enough software and especially adobe software to know that they do that kind of thing, especially with their initial release of a product. It's usually not stable until at least the x.0.1 or x.0.2 release. Time will tell.

I am having the same problem on a LEGIT copy. however the shortcuts will work in Imageready.
