sharpening a photo

I have this great photo of me and my boyfriend, I've already cropped and changed the color levels (its a bit washed out now, but it was WAY too dark and red earlier)

Anyway, the photo is a bit blurry, but the sharpen filters do NOTHING. And when I try to sharpen only certain sections it gets too grainy.


Can this be repaired?

I think it's hard to get this picture very sharp.
But what you can try is:
Switching from RGB to LAB mode.
In channels select the lightness layer.
In Unsharp mask try different settings and look with preview to the result.
After clicking OK set the colour mode back to RGB.

Sharpening the lightness channel in LAB mode doesn't work on your colours and avoids clipping or other problems.
I use it all the time for scharpening my pictures.
