shapes and lines that are not regular

Hello everbody,

Bellow is the picture what I would like to do. First there is a "box" in the upper right corner where there are 2 football teams in it. As you can see, the box is a bit wavy and does not have straight lines around it. How to do this?

Another question is, how to do a background like this? It has a nice grey color with some soft textures, any ideas how to do this?

There are similar looking texture backgrounds you can find in the net ... try mottled background or grunge.

There a few ways to do this edge effect. Quite lengthy to summarize it so here's a tute I used that may suit your need... http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/torn-edges/

New layer make darker grey overlay a pattern adjust to fit the style, make a new layer draw with pencil a rough square with wobbly deges fill and give the same pattern as the first but the grey will be a shade lighter then do all your other add ons.
You could try other avenues though, pond ripple maybe?

The background I managed with grunge pattern for background. The box I did with eraser tool as showed in tutorial above (seems like there is no other way?).
