Hi - thanks for looking at this thread, something occured to me today as i was running an action on several identically sized files....is ther a way, or an acion, that can take several different images and put them into one PSD document, you know what its like, yure working on a montage with lots of soucre images, but would be great if you can just hit a button that pulls in a folder and sets then all out as layers, be even better if you could drag a folder from a HDD onto the layers pallete......how about segguetsing that one to adobe.....anyone know of any quick work rounds? It could be possible for an action to maybe do this with open files?

Good query qxe900! :) [confused]

If there is a way, I'd be interested to hear about it. ;)

Suffice to say, that in the meantime, it's not a "big deal" to "shift+click" on multiple files to open them up and drag them into my active document. [innocent]

P.S. The "file browser" works like a charm for locating and loading files!

I dunno about an action that can automatically place files as layers, but the easiest way for me to open several files at once is from the Finder (Mac...I guess it would be Windows Explorer on Windows.) Just Shift-select multiple files and drag them onto PS's icon or alias (that's a Shortcut for Windows users). That'll launch PS if it's not already open and open all the files you dragged.

It might be possible, though I doubt it, as one has to change the active document all the time.

Yeah - having used PS since version 3 all those years ago - i think i would have found a quick way - i oftent do the shift click and then drag to the alias or tear off app strip on the mac...just be nice if you could in future versions drag a folder of images to a folder set that would be sweeeeet. Maybe adobe will scour these user groups an come across this little thread and include it one day?!? Ill thne be asking for the action that goes down starirs and make a cuppa for me and extends my deadline!!!!
