Hi,

No doubt its easy but I'm working on something for my son and have used the pen tool to write out his name but I just know I'll want to edit it later when I've a better idea what it will look like so I'm wondering if and how I could save this so that I can edit it again later if I need to.

Cheers for any help.

Thanks for the lightning fast reply :)

Works really well but it completes the shape, that said by the look of it if I just turn fill off it looks perfect.

Thank you again :)

well with the pen tool you can add points and edit it later on it just joins the path to make 1

I've had to do this before. Turning the path into a shape for later use, is a very good idea.

When you return to it, open a layer with the shape you want to change.

Click on the Layer with the shape in it.
Go to Window > Paths
Click on the Shape (in the paths window) you want to change, & a line will appear around the shape.
Using the Path Selection tool, click on the path. The Anchors are now visible & fully editable.

Hope that helps.

Just double click the path in the path palette and give it a name. That way if you make another path, you won't overwrite it. Like hawkeye said, it will be saved in those formats.
