Hi everyone! I'm new here, and for my first post I have a question. Here it goes.
So I know the "Change the default saving option" has been discussed before, and I know the best way to do it is to create a Photoshop Action to save the image as a .png. While that's all well and good, I have a different situation.
After a few months of work, I have just finished an icon pack. Every icon has it's own group in photoshop, and there is upwards of 100 icons. So I have about 100 groups, each an individual icon.
I created an action to save as a .png that saves the image to a specific location. The problem is, after I save 2 icons, photoshop begins to save over the previous icon.
The pack is called 'Prime HD'. so naturally the PSD is called PrimeHD.psd. When I activate the first group to save the icon, click the action, it saves it in the specified folder as "PrimeHD.png". When I hide that group and unhide the next group to save that icon, and click the action, it saves the icon as "PrimeHD - copy.png". This is where the action stops working. I hide the group and unhide the next group, and the action saves the icon as "PrimeHD - copy.png" again- right over the previous icon.
So is there a way to avoid this? The action has "Save as copy" at the end. Does that have something to do with it? Is there a way to batch save each group as an individual png and have the name of each correspond with the group name? It just get's annoying to make one little change to the top overlays and have to go through and resave every single one of the 100 icons, because each takes around 15 seconds to save through the normal method of file-save as-dialogue pops up-click png from the list-change name-save-hide group-unhide next group.
Sorry for the long read, I just wanted to be thorough.
Thanks for any help that could be offered!
