Saving colors

I have been working on coloring a B. &W. photograph and some of the colors I used were mixes painted on their own seperate layers using blend modes. As I worked and as the picture progressed I needed to use some of the colors again - but they were to subtle - when I clicked on each layer and went to the pic with the eyedropper - it did'nt bring me the color I had previously used. How do you save your color mixes before you alter them with blend modes or whatever?
Ferlin.
Thanks

you can add them to your palette by saving as a new swatch under the option menu for that palette. It will remain there with that document until deleted, ie it saves with the document itself.

You can also create custom swatch palettes that you can save and use with other documents using the same colours.

Thanks Stick diesel

Your tip works, that was easy. I like to use different fill layers with different colors and opacities and then merging them to get colors that aren't so predictable. Now I have to learn how to make custom pallettes.
Thanks again :righton:

no probs. To save custom palette just select the option "save swatches", and it will ask you to create a file in the swatches folder. Then all have to do is load your swatch into a new document by selecting "load swatches" :D
