Saving animation frames with layer names

Hi,

I am trying to save all layers as PNG files automatically and the built-in "Export Layers to Files" function works very slow for me. I found another alternative which suggests to create animation frames from all layers and then export it using render video feature. The problem is I need to save each layer with its name. Render video saves layers by giving numbers incrementally. Any ideas about this?

Thanks.

I think what your describing will be a mammouth task depending on how many frames you are doing.

However if your not to picky on layer names then yes you can do export as image sequence in programs such as after effects, the downside is you will name the file

example.png
so 1st frame will save as example.png 2nd frame will be saved as example_01.png 3rd frame will be example_02.png etc etc

so yes exporting layers to file will be your better option as that will save the files as the layer name.

I don't know what I am doing wrong but exporting layers to file is taking ages... about 1 minute to export one layer and I have like 50-150 layers in each file...

Another option would be to use my "Layer Saver" script ..

Your script works wonderful! This is how the silly built-in save all layers feature should work. Thank you very much!

In case someone else reads this: You need to make all the layers visible for this script to work. Shortcut to make all layers visible: Right click on the layer eye and select "Show/hide all other layers".
