Save jpeg without loss

If you save it at the lowest compression setting you will retain the highest quality, but you will always lose something as a jpg.

It will depend on the final use of your image file what settings to use.
It is possible to use fairly high compression for screen or web graphics and get acceptable results.
If the image is for print, keep it as a tif file.

JPG compression is known as *lossy*.
i.e. to get the compression, the image loses detail, therefore quality.
Higher compression = lower quality.

ONLY if you save them as something besides .jpegs, such as .psd...

Everytime, and I mean EVERY time you save a .jpeg, you will lose quality, no matter how low the settings. It is simply the nature of the beast, and there is NOTHING you can do to change that.

All you can do is save in a lossless format, such as .psd if you intend to make any changes or print an image.
