Did another attempt on using a statue and make it come alive. So I picked a statue which I asume is Poseidon and placed him in a environment thats suits him better as a guy who likes water and also crossing off my water element in my serie. I think it's done, might give it some more work in a while, but anyhow. Let me know what you think! (I wanted him to look like powerful god, but I somehow cant shake off the feeling that he sort of look like a drama queen who arent pleased at all standing in the middle of the ocean.)

Hmmm.. why are my pictures loosing saturation? I have the right color profile. It doesnt loose the same amount on another forum I use to post on. Anyway, might be my screen that is off.

Really nice piece Dalkarls...

Love the shark up there lol and the movement created by the splashing of waves. Lighting is good as well.

Great job.

Dalkaris, the issue with saturation seems to be a common occurrence. It happens with most of my images. However, if I click on it to enlarge it, the image is then OK. IDK why this is, but you might check it out yourself, then make a note in your posting asking people to click for the larger img to see the true representation. I'm sorry for that, but it's better than posting a substandard picture and being dissatisfied. Wish I had a better answer.

Whoa that is amazing. I love how you managed to make the statue look real! Amazing idea.

To me it also looks as if the cloudy shark appears whenever this dude pops up, so it's almost like his entrance theme.

Just one thing about the lighting... If you ignore the character, it looks as if the natural light source is at the back, but if you look at the character it looks as if the natural light source is from the front right. I find that a bit contradicting.

Despite that it looks amazing :D

Looks good... i am slightly in agreement with superiorsyed if the statue is removed about the lighting...

Had a little play just to take the light to the right slightly to give a comparison.. not perfect by any means but just a play around, hope you don't mind.

I think adding warmth to this piece doesn't really go Inky...

He's surrounded by water and sea. I would have gone slightly blue.

Hi Inkz.. yeah thought about it first but just it a go as the original image has some slight warmth in in the bg.. but like you said probably doesn't fit.

Hers one with a bit more blue.

I agree. This is a fine piece of work just like it is, no warmth necessary. Very cool.

I think if the 'old masters' still breathed air they would be saying differently, i personally like the warmth.
To the 'OP' great image.

I like where you've gone with the colour but I think the OPs starting work is outstanding.

I think if a middle ground could be found it would be great.

I've just spend the last few minutes flipping between both images and I do prefer the rework but thats very much an opinion thing.

Woh! Cheers guys, was fun looking thru all of your versions and I realy like some of the things that you did with it, and also thanks for the comments, very happy to hear that you liked it! :) I dont mind at all if you want to take my images to the next level, it's all about learning!

This is awesome colourisation.

I think I would add a few more tones to the skin.

I think I've just got the kind of eye's that spot this kind of thing, but he seems to be looking at something exciting if you know what I mean. Sorry for lowering the tone, but now I've spotted it, it's hard to ignore. :)

Dalkarls, your first posted picture is just GREAT...wonderful work! But I do not like any of the modified posts...but maybe this is just me.

I was looking at this image again with someone else... i couldn't stop laughing when they pointed out to me " he dos look rather erect doesn't he"...

Depending on which monitor or size you looking at the picture ... they didn't mean has big fork ...

Still a great work by chrisdesign thouh...

Haha! So I have been told, a coworker did mention it after I was done with the picture.. maybe morphing down his suspicious "fork" would be in place.
