I am trying to resize my digital photos to the normal 4x6 inches for printing, but when I enter the parameters to resize, either the width or height automatically changes and I can't get it to 4x6.

Help?

When you view a 4/3 program on a 16/9 TV, you either stretch it or add black lines at the edges... it is the "rule of 3": the proportions of your picture do not match 4X6 (Or 2x3) they are maybe in 5X7 ratio...

You'll need to CROP the picture to get 4X6... (I recommend working on a copy to have a "safety net" )

Hi there, make sure you have "constrain proportions" unchecked if you do not want to resize both sides at the same time. If you took the picture with a 3:2 format...you should be able to resize with out problems. If not... you might have to crop the image to 4x6.

Hope this helps.

Be careful because it does exactly what it says; not constrain proportions and the image will look stretched. Trained eyes will notice this. Best thing to do is what Spectre advised; crop it.

I just took off the constrain proportions and made it 4.5x6 instead and it turned out right.

What's the most accurate way to crop it to exactly 4x6?

[stuned] huh? get the crop tool [c] , put 4 in, 6in and 300dpi in the three boxes in the option bar...
