Hi all I've been trying to resize a banner for a site at work and have ran into a problem. The dimensions for the banner are 660 x 251 pixels and I was trying to get a picture of 1488 x 2240 pixels to conform to the dimensions of the banner size that's on the site. The resolution for both pictures is 72 pixels/inch. When I ty this, the picture becomes pixelated, I thought that resizing a picture from big to small was ideal? :banghead: Does anyone have any other suggestion as to how I can achieve my intension without the picture distorting? I've tried resizing the actual picture and even creating a new document and dragging the picture and using the transformation handles with the shift key to try this.

Hi MightyZeus

Actually that is a well known issue Photoshop, lacks at resizing pictures, and gets even worst when you got a very low image resolution like in this case, your only bet in Photoshop is resizing the image on increments by 10% each time bicubic smooth up to 5 times before the pixelation gets more noticeable, but i don't think this technique is gonna work in this case, i will try another external plugins for resizing pictures, like Perfect Resize 7 or Alien Skin Blow Up 2, those plugins work really well for this kind of work but there's always some unavoidable pixelation at the end.

Good luck.

Can't thank you enough $1r_M4x1mu$, I'm definitely looking up those plugins. Didn't know about the resizing issue that Photoshop has, thanks for the heads up. I was breaking my head thinking that I was doing something wrong.
