Resizing Correctly

Hi: I have a project in AI which is 1.5' L x 4' w. How can I correctly resize an image in PS which is originally 8 x 10 that will fit in the AI template? I have tried different settings in Image size menu. I have also tried the marquee tool and tried the fixed aspect ratio but its no help.

i think what you are talking about is that the canvas size in illustrator is different from the image you want to edit right. well i came across the same problem. what you do is select your image then go to object>artboards>fit to artwork bounds. this will make the canvas (as in Photoshop) the exact size as the image or what ever object you chose.
