Resizing a square filled design

I've made a design that is filled with different sized squares that interlock and touch either perfectly, but now I need to make the whole shape bigger...

When I use free transform holding the shift key, it creates a lot of gaps between the rows of squares that were aligned perfectly before.

Is there any way around this? How do I resize the shape without messing up how well each square sits next to each other?

Please help (urgent)

Transforms well for me. Not sure how or why your having problems. Are you sure you have all the layers selected when attempting the transform? Any chance you could show a screenshot of your layers panel?

Yeah, I'm not having that problem. Not sure what to advise here??

Without seeing layers, it looks like to me the layers that show actually have one, but they are not noticed until enlarged try shifting the layers in the direction where gaps are

I know this has nothing to do with Free Transform. If you are selecting multiple layers to transform, that could be your problem.

So what do you think I should do? I've screenshotted what my layers look like:

This image MERCURY 2-.png has been enlarged to 300% using Transform where the Interpolation option is set to "Bicubic". No gaps observed.

Maybe you can make a flattened copy and increase its size?

When I merge all the layers, no gaps seem to show but now the edges of each square are blurred...do I just have to accept this as a result of enlarging it?

Try placing all layers in a group. Convert the group to a smart object. This maintains the edit ability and should allow the free transform without any problems.

If editing is not a worry, you can also create Visible stamp or merge a copy of all visible layers into a target layer.......Shift + Opt/Alt + Cmd/Cntrl + E
