Hi guys,

So I've been working on some pixel art and want to make it sticker and t-shirt size 2400x3200

My problem is Ive been working on a image size that is 64x64. I used the pencil tool. How can I resize it so that it dose not lose any quality

Thanks for the help!

I hate to have to break the bad news to you, but the only real option you have is to re-do the image at a higher resolution. The jump from your current resolution to 2400x3200 is absurdly large to try to achieve by automated means.

I figured it out, just made a gride and made each gride box 100x100 pixels, which makes it easy to scale the image

Never mind, this method does not work well, the 100x100 boxes I am using arn't connecting like a 1x1 box. Its a simple detail but annoying. How would I make photoshop work better in making pixel art? so that when I move my box one pixel over the two pixels connect?

Just a long shot ... you did try the "nearest neighbor" option when you attempted to up-rez, didn't you?

There are lots better ones, but I think that's kinda the standard starting point for up-rez'ing pixel art.

Pixel art is when the image is created and edited at a pixel level. It is intended to be done on small canvas sizes. When you need to simulate pixel art on a larger canvas, you must also simulate the size of the pixel..........if that makes sense.

I would be happy to try to do this for you using PhotoZoom. If you want send me the image and I will give it a go.

Here is a link to the publishers site describing PhotoZoom, I dont accept that its the worlds best but at the price I paid for it its darn good and a heck of a lot cheaper than the best. The best costs $1000s if memory serves.

bgoodman - Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure your suggestion can't work. Photozoom, as I recall, only has spline, or similar algorithms available.

In contrast, the OP's request for an up-rezing method for pixel art is a topic with a very long history, and that community has developed highly optimized algorithms that have almost nothing to do with the usual algorithms used to up-rez normal / photographic type of images.

For those that are interested, here are two good places to start to learn about this issue:

Thanks for the info Tom, much appreciated.

It wasnt to big of an issue as I just redid it using bigger brushes. It also is just a blue sprite from pokemon red with the text public enemy number one underneath, I got it to work by just redoing it
