[REQUEST] Grave rubbing technique

Hi all, I've spent hours trying to recreate the grave rubbing technique in Photoshop and am getting very frustrated. I'm looking for something like the rubbing of the knight's shield from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (see attachment below). I just want to display some block letters in the rubbing (i.e. "LOREM IPSUM DOLOREM EST"). Does anyone have any ideas? Or maybe someone could take a quick crack at it?

Very much appreciated!

How about this -

Create the penciled rubbing first using your choice of brush and color - completely solid.
On a layer above it, type out the text you want. Using a layer mask, you can erase with varying opacities on the text to let some of the rubbing color show through.
Then stick a paper text pattern on a layer over everything, and change the blend to overlay.

Agent, thanks for the suggestion - that might work, but I'm not sure how to go about doing the actual penciled rubbing. No matter what brush and settings I use, it doesn't look right. Any ideas?

Search for some brush packs on-line. I have seen some "crayon" brushes before. That might work. Or you may be better off doing a solid color, then adding some kind of texture layer above it, changing it to overlay, and maybe you'll get the look you want.

cgtextures.com is an amazing place to look for textures. If you find something, be sure to post your work so we can see it.
