Renaming Brushes?

I have renamed some brush sets I've downloaded. The file looks like it's taken the new name, however, when I open Photoshop, the old name is still there. Any way to have both names the same?

For example, in the attached picture, the photoshop list has 'clouds'. It's the same brush pack called 'Cloud Brushes' in my computer (photoshop>presets>brushes).

I am not sure of that. Do you have a lot of brushes loaded. You might try resetting all brushes and see if PS will get it right. Someone else may have a better solution. I've never had this problem.

I don't think I have a "lot", lol, but I guess that will vary depending on your definition!

I only have the ones shown in the picture above. No others.

Seems to me that the name difference is negligible. If they open right, they're all there, and clouds is a good identifier, I guess I would just accept that. Maybe the title appendage of "brushes" is considered superfluous by PS, since it recognizes that they are brushes.

I guess that was a bad example. I also have one called fire_brushes_by_spirothedragon1371. Now, that may be negligible to you, but to me it's an eyesore. I'd much rather it just be called Fire Brushes 2 (as it's the 2nd set of Fire Brushes).

I'm sure there is a way to do this, there has to be, right?

MOD EDIT: Off-Topic post. As I said in another of your tag-on-top-of-someone-else's-post post, start your own thread or find the right one to discuss this. We have a section and a discussion of this very question, favorite brushes. This is not the proper place. Any more of these misplaced posts and I am sorry, but I will have to delete them.

How and where did you rename the brushes ?

I delete and rename on a regular basis. Never an issue...
