I have made an image, or at least I call it an image :D But now that I have finished with it, there is all this white around it. I don't want to fill it with anything }:\

I want only the image to be saved. How do I do that? \:]

I assume you're talking about a transparent image.
To avoid the white, chose a different color for the matte option in the "Save for Web preview window. Choose a color that is as close as possible to the color of the background you are targeting.

We should also find out what your purpose is for the image. If it's just a general image to look at on your computer, then save your image as a 24bit PNG w/transparency.

In this case you'll need to view the image with a viewer that can render transparency in PNG images. But be ware that even they will fill the background with a solid colour. Only an image app like PS or PSP will show the transparency the way it really is.

If this IS for a Web page, then use Elysian's advice. But also remember to put a checkmark in the "Transparency" box when saving in the GIF format -- as well as choosing a proper Matte colour.

Ah thanx. I want to create a kind of symbol. But I don't want to HAVE to put a background to it. I'll try what u suggest. :}
