Hi all

I just joined! my names matt hello

I am trying to remove a backround around the ladies in the picture I have attached... Normally I would use the magic wand tool and click the backround and then inverse but the backround and the ladies have similar colors. Now I am using the eraser tool and trying to delete the backround but the edges look rough and I was wondering if I could have some advice on what to do..

thx everyone

ps its not letting me attach, I need to post at least 5 times

hey thx

Ill give this a look... right now im using the quick mask tool but its still very difficult... When I selected everything that i need is there a way to blur the edges or soften the edges so its not so obvious that I used a pen tool?

Yes. Once you have the selection done, there are two methods. The second one is preferable.

1) This will give you softer edges and delete the background.
1a. Select > Modify > Feather
1b. Select > inverse
1c. Delete key

2) This will hide the background, then soften the transition between foreground and background.
2a. Layer > Layer Mask > Reveal Selection
2b. Make sure the new layer mask is still selected in the Layers panel.
2c. Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur
