Hi, I've been looking through the net for an answer to how to remove a background from an image. I saw the tutorial on this site but it didn't help in removing the background from the image I am using.

The background I want to remove is almost like a shadow so it is difficult to distinguish the colours, as everything is black, white and grey. I tried using color range and the magic wand but nothing works so hopefully someone here can help me.

Here is a link to the image:

I can't post links or attachments yet because of my post counts so yeah

do you want only the clock image? if so then you can just use the magnetic lasso tool and crop out the clock from the image. if i am wrong, can you plz make your requirement a bit clear?

Hello, Just use the "elliptical marquee tool".
1)Create a circle with the shift key held down. You can make it loose because you can transform the selection after it is made.
2)Next go to Select/Transform selection and massage the selection into place.
3)Next go to Select/Inverse Selection and invert the selection
4)Next go to Edit/Fill. Fill with the color of your choice
5)Pat yourself on the back....Well done.
