remove repetative patterns

I posted this but for some reason it did not go through. I need help removing the repetative dots on this check as well as the ink blob where the date was written on the check. I thank you in advance for any and all help. I am posting the full image and then a close up of the pattern dots to be removed.

This is a fingerprint developed with ninhydrin. It would be nice to be able to remove the patterns to see if any more point of identification can be located. If I can develope more inofrmation I can enter the photograph into a fingerprint database and search for a match.
 
Thank you Hawkeye. That is exactly what I am looking for. Now I have to convince my boss to convince IT we need to buy the plug in.
