A challenge for me 3 hours and counting.
Need to remove back ground. Hair is difficult to retain. Also need purple item in front.

Saving as a png... Trans parent back ground. Will be placing onto of other back ground.kate super.jpg

Thank you.

The hair is nearly impossible to isolate, and the entire image is somewhat out of focus. I guess it depends on what your new background looks like, but hopefully this will be ok.
It's a PNG file on a transparent background.

Okay - here we are with the hair issues again...
Did my best at taking out the background and masking her hair. Didn't do any color correction since I don't know what background you'll be placing her in. I did brighten a little though.
Others will most likely weigh in...

Excellent work, @GeneGraphics
Given the image, what you did is probably the best solution to have a well finished end product.
Did you use a Hair Brush? If so, which one? I use some Nagel Series brushes for hair related work.

Thanks! Yes, I found a free hair strand brush set from a site named medialoot.com. I also googled a hair image and used some parts of it. Then made some tweaks to its colors to make it blend on the subject.

I also gave this one a shot and did my best around the hair. Just tried to blend in the edges the best I could. The refine edge tool did not work for me at all on this image. I also removed some image noise and sharpened to make subject stand out a little more. Looks like you will have lots of variation to select from. Hope you like one of them.

You...are...AWESOME!
Thanks for the go-to for medialoot.
Picked up some brushes that I've been looking for.
